Mr. Earl K. Huff, age 82, of State Route 103, Lewistown died Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at 7:20 p.m. at the Hershey Medical Center. He was born in Tyrone on August 28, 1923, the son of William and Izetta Steward Huff and on July 11, 1945 was married to Loyce S. Searer who survives. Also surviving are three sons: Rodney E. and wife Lisa of TN, Randall L. and wife Tracy of Carlisle, Richard K. and wife Louise of New Cumberland. Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Allison, Ryan, Whitney, Ad, Colin, Logan, Grace and Austin and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Levenna Hackett of Lewistown and a brother, Reverend Norman E. Huff of Tyrone. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary L., five brothers and one sister.
He was a car salesman and later owned and operated Lewistown Automotive Center for 25 years. He served in the US Army during World War II.
He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, of the church choir which he served as director for 20 years, the Lewistown Chorus of the Blue Juniata, serving as director for 25 years, a United Commercial Travelers, a 50 year member, Lewistown Chapter 186 Royal Arch Mason, F & AM Lewistown Lodge 203, Lewistown chapter SPEBSQSA, Fort Granville Grange, president of the Easter Seal Society, Community Concert Director, life member of the VFW, Juniata Valley Forest No. 88 Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Jaffa Temple and the Lewistown Community Band.
Funeral services for Mr. Huff will be Saturday, October 15, 2005 at 10 a.m. at the Barr Funeral Home, Inc., 120 Logan Street, Lewistown with Reverend Thomas Dunkle and Reverend Norman E. Huff officiating. Interment will follow in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday.
