Patricia Ann States, 71, of Columbia, died peacefully, Saturday, October 30, 2005 at the Hospice of Lancaster County Inpatient Center, Lancaster.
Born in Tyrone, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Mcleary Wrye. She was the wife of the late Frederick M. States, Jr.; he died January 19, 2003.
She worked for many years at the former Columbia Hospital in the dietary kitchen. She attended Lancaster County Bible Church, and was a member of the former Cookman United Methodist Church, Columbia. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, Columbia, the VFW Auxiliary, Columbia, and the Susquehanna Fire Company, Columbia.
She enjoyed painting, cooking, clocks, taking trips, attending Moose conventions, and spending time with her family. A son survives her: Frederick L. husband of Sandy States, Columbia, two daughters: Patty Jo wife of Steve Ettinger, Felton, Kelly J. States, Columbia, two brothers: Gary and Edward Wrye both of Altoona, four grandchildren: Freddy States, Stacey Nagy, Michele Lively, Nook Lively, and one great grandson: Brayden Nagy.
She was preceded in death by a brother Wendell Wrye, and a grandson Randy L. States. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 1, 2005 from the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, Inc., 519 Walnut Street, Columbia, at 7 p.m. The viewing will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Interment services will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at 9 a.m. at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens, North Ninth Street Extended, Columbia.
