Trees are now on display in the main lobby of the Tyrone Hospital adorned with angels purchased by members of the community and hospital family to remember deceased loved ones, to honor those living, or to recognize a business or organization.
All proceeds from the Tree of Light will be donated to Tyrone Hospital to purchase a teleradiology system at an estimated cost of $30,000. The teleradiology system will allow the hospital to transmit digital diagnostic images, such as CT scans and MRI images, to physicians via the internet. This will give the hospital greater access to physicians who can interpret test results and also provide patient test results more quickly during evening and weekend hours.
In addition to the interior trees, an exterior tree will be lighted at the main entrance of Tyrone Hospital in a ceremony to be held Monday, December 5 at 6 p.m. The public is invited to attend the ceremony which will include performances by the students of Vocal Attraction from the Tyrone Area Middle School and the St. Matthew’s School Choir. A reception with complimentary refreshments will be held following the illumination ceremony.
Tree of Light angels may be purchased through December 31. Forms are available in the main lobby of Tyrone Hospital, or by calling the hospital’s marketing office at 684-1255 extension 539.
