Members of Tyrone’s Cub Scout Pack 320 played the role of Santa’s elves this holiday season by collecting, sorting and packaging enough items to fill 11 gift packages that were sent to American troops deployed in Iraq.
The packages included personal hygiene items, food and snacks, batteries, books, writing supplies, phone cards, and various other items along with a Scout Pack 320 photo and Christmas cards containing personal messages from the scouts.
Pack 320 would like to thank the following local businesses for their support of the Cub Scout program and for donating the various items that were collected for distribution to the soldiers: Walmart, Altoona; Kmart, Altoona; Toys R Us, Altoona; Dollar General, Tyrone; Family Dollar, Tyrone; Rite-Aid, Tyrone; The Book Store, Altoona; Martin\’s Foods, Altoona; Hometown Market, Bellwood; Giant Eagle, Roaring Springs; Cowfer\’s Custom Design, Tyrone; Citizen\’s Bank, Tyrone; Health South, Tyrone; Mead Corporation, Alexandria and Sheetz Corporation.
