The Tyrone boys swim team (3-0) defeated Richland 88-76, on the road on Wednesday, for their third straight triumph of the season.
Ethan Nulton was the Eagles only double winner in individual events, with firsts in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle. Chris Bradigan won the 100 freestyle for the only other individual win for the Orange and Black. Nulton and Bradigan combined with Zac Yeaton and Matt Elder to win the 200 medley relay, and with Matt Elder and Philip Kreckle to take first place in the 200 freestyle relay.
The victory came as much from the second and third place points secured by the Tyrone boys in the first away meet of the season after opening the campaign with a pair of home victories.
Matt Elder was second in both the 200 IM and 100 butterfly. Chris Bradigan was second in the 50 freestyle. Phil Kreckle was second in the 100 free and third in the 50 freestyle. Dustin Elder contributed a second in the 100 backstroke and a third in the 100 freestyle. Zac Yeaton added a second in the 100 breaststroke and third in the 200 IM. Tyler Thompson collected a third place finish in the 500 freestyle. The Eagles 400 free relay team consisting of Thompson, Grimm, Kreckle and Dustin Elder finished second.
On the girls side, Richland handed the Tyrone Lady Eagles (2-1) their initial loss of the season 96-70 after two wins.
Salena Bradigan won the 200 freestyle, Kelly Pearson took the 200 IM and Leah Cherry won the 500 freestyle. The only other win for the Lady Eagles was in the 200 freestyle relay, with Bradigan and Pearson combining with Paige Black and Brittney Day for the victory.
Paige Black finished second in both the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle. Cherry was second in the 200 freestyle. Zoe Yeaton was second in the 100 butterfly, and third in the 200 IM. Pearson was second in the 100 backstroke. Bradigan was third in the 100 butterfly, and Day was third in the 50 freestyle.
Cherry, Pearson, Day and Black were second in the 400 free relay and Amber Davis, Kassie Markel, Yeaton and Bradigan were third in the 400 free relay.
