Blair County Health and Welfare Council cordially invites everyone to the “Shape Up Blair County” kick-off breakfast to be held Wednesday, January 11 from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at HealthSouth Rehab Hospital of Altoona.
“Shape Up Blair County” is a five-month wellness program designed to encourage healthy eating habits and increase physical activity. Pennsylvanians are encouraged to form teams, up to 10 people, to work and motivate each other over a five-month time span to promote healthier lifestyles. Team competition will recognize achievement in two categories: weight-loss due to an appropriate diet and accumulate activity in the form of time.
Through the months of February through June, team captains will receive weekly emails containing physical activity, motivation and nutritional tips, and should share this information with their team. Pennsylvanians age 18 and under can participate in the accumulate activity category of the program.
Gold, silver and bronze medals as well as certificates will be awarded to the teams reaching top levels of achievement.
For more information, visit www.shapeuppa.org or contact Lisa Hann at 693-3023 or Inhann@blairco.org.
Please RSVP for the kick-off breakfast by January 4 to Lisa Hann at 693-3023 or Inhann@blairco.org.
