The Antis Township Board of Supervisors held its reorganization meeting earlier last week.
New board members, Robert E. Smith and Kenneth Hostler were recognized by the board.
Smith was elected to the board last November, beating out former supervisor Ronald Gensamer. Hostler was appointed to the board following the passing of Dr. Robert Walker in November.
Attorney Patrick Fanelli was appointed temporary Chairman to hear nominations for the Chairman of the Board.
Raymond Amato was reappointed as Board Chairman and Charles Taylor will once again fill the roll of Vice Chairman.
Linda Kimmen was appointed Secretary/Treasurer and the treasurer’s bond was established at $750,000.
The firm of Andrews and Beard, with Fanelli as the designated Solicitor, was appointed.
Stiffler, McGraw and Associates was named as Township Engineer.
Amato was reappointed to serve a five year term on the Bellwood Antis Park and Recreation Authority and the Antis Township Safety Committee while Hostler was appointed to the Bell Mansion Corporation, the Blair Regional Code Administrative Committee until July 1, 2008 and the Bellwood-Antis Public Library board for 2006.
Smith was appointed to serve on the Blair County Sanitary Administrative Committee for 2006 and Taylor was reappointed to serve on the 24 Member Government Advisory Committee to the Blair County Planning Commission for 2006.
Sherree Otto Johannes was reappointed to the Antis Township Planning Commission for a four year term while Darryl Yeager was reappointed to serve a five year term on the inactive Antis Township Sewer Authority and to serve a five year term on the Northern Blair County Regional Sewer Authority.
Ray Nycum was named as the Vacancy Board Member Chairman and Francis Rumberger was appointed to fill a vacancy as an Antis Township Auditor.
Mary Ann Bennis was appointed as Real Estate Transfer Tax Collector. Commission to be received by Antis Township is 1/2 of one percent of the deed transfers and the Bellwood Antis School District was appointed as the Wage, Occupation Privilege and Flat Rate Occupation Tax Collector at a four percent commission.
It was also agreed the depository for all township funds will remain with M&T Bank.
As per the union contract, the Supervisors established the week of July 10-14 as a shut down week for the year 2006. The dates were originally June 9-23, but Supervisors voted at the regular meeting on Thursday to reschedule.
The 2006 Antis Township Wage Scale and mileage reimbursement rate was approved along with Resolution No. 3-2006, a resolution to amend the Policy and Procedure Book for non-union employees, adding Community Picnic Day to the holiday section and adding one sick and two personal days.
Supervisors also established the dates and times for the monthly meetings as the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m.
Following the reorganization meeting, an executive session was held regarding litigation purposes.
