Mayors of Tyrone Borough
Present for the ceremonies celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the Incorporation of Tyrone Borough includes several Tyrone Borough Mayors. Pictured, from left, with current Mayor James Kilmartin, includes former mayors Gene Johnson, Patricia Stoner, Robert Miller, James Hoover and Steve Beals. In addition to a number of current council members, County Commissioner Donna Gority, a representative from the Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs and representatives from the Tyrone Area School Board were also present. A brief history of the Borough of Tyrone was presented by Borough Manager Sharon Dannaway. The history of the Borough will be printed in The Daily Herald in the near future. Former Borough Council Members
Four former members of Tyrone Borough Council were present for the 150th Anniversary Ceremonies Friday. They include (L to R) former Council Members Rev. Vance Clark, Larrie Derman, Rev. Myers Kimmel and Pete Dutrow. State Senator John Eichelberger offered a word of thanks to elected officials and complimented the Tyrone community for everything the it has accomplished. State Representative Mike Fleck was also on hand and presented a citation on behalf of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, sponsored by himself and Representative Jerry Stern.
