“It is just very hard to believe that we are only two weeks away from our fifth annual library fundraising concert,” said Chuck Banas, the Tyrone-Snyder Public Library’s concert chairman. “This year we have been really busy filling out mail order tickets and getting them out to our supporters all across Pennsylvania.”
Appearing this year as the final opening act for The Drifters will be Brittany Ullrich from Pittsburgh. Brittany started performing at the age of two. She started as a dancer and has expanded her interests to include singing and acting. Brittany is currently pursuing her musical theater degree at Point Park University.
Brittany has appeared in many productions at the University as well as a few shows outside of the Pittsburgh area. She has sung the National Anthem for the Pirates at PNC Park. Brittany has also appeared on Saturday Night Live. She has worked for the past five years with Walt Maddox, one of the original members of The Marcels and looks forward to doing voice-over work in the future.
“I think Brittany will be a great way to finalize the opening acts for this year’s headline group of Charlie Thomas’ The Drifters,” Banas added.
Joining Brittany as the opening acts will be Tyrone’s own Dance Fusion, B. Elle and the Tyrone Area High School’s POPS Extension. It should be a great way in which to start the evening.
The library will also be chancing off a beautiful quilt that evening. Chance tickets are available at the Tyrone-Snyder Public Library and may also be purchased at the auditorium the night of the show. Winners need not be present in order to win the quilt. All monies raised in this effort will go towards maintaining the summer reading program.
The library will also be chancing off a tea and spice gift basket that has been donated by Tea Merchant 101 of Duncansville. Tickets for this will only be available the evening of the show, and the winner must be present in order to take this gift home with them. All monies raised through this effort will go towards the payment of the mortgage on the new library building in Tyrone.
Tickets for this year’s concert are still available at the following ticket locations: Bressler’s Food Mart and Sports, Kopp Drug and Tyrone-Snyder Public Library. Tickets are available also by mail by calling 684-7929 to order.
Next week, the headliners of the March 25 show, Charlie Thomas’ The Drifters will be featured. The show will again be held at the Tyrone Area High School auditorium. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and the show will start promptly at 7 p.m.
