Becky Jo Welch, 43, of 532 W. 22nd St., Tyrone, died Friday, March 31, 2006 at the Altoona Regional Health System Altoona Hospital Campus.
She was born May 1, 1962 in Tyrone a daughter of Frances Emery.
Becky is a Jehovah Witness and was known for her deep and enduring faith, her pure and simple way of life, her self-sacrificing love for people who knew her and to all who met her. She had a special love for animals and was an avid fan of the Steelers, Penn State, and Tyrone Golden Eagles Football.
She was a member of the Tipton Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses. A graduate of Tyrone Area High School in 1981 and was a homemaker and caregiver for her grandparents.
Surviving is “her beloved Gram” Dorothy F. (Gummo) Welch of Tyrone, with whom she resided all her life. Her special Mother Frances Emery and her husband Kenneth of Centre Hall; three sisters, Penny Morsillo of Tempe, Ariz., Shelly Emery of Elizabethtown and Lori Hawbecker of Middletown; two nieces and three nephews and many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved her so dearly.
She was preceded in death by her “Pap” Lloyd V. “Bucky” Welch in 1997.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Mark Dracup as speaker. Interment will be at Baughman Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, Tipton or the Palliative Care Suite of the Altoona Hospital, Altoona.
