Mrs. Grace A. Gross, age 84, of 1850 Madison Avenue, Tyrone, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at Greensburg, PA. She was born April 13, 1921 at Hannah Furnace, the daughter of James Russell Flick and Alice Walk and was raised by her grandparents, John and Minnie Walk.
On Aug. 6, 1938, she was married to James R. “Red” Gross who survives. Also surviving is a granddaughter, Lisa C. Vinck and a fiancé Gary Liston of Greensburg; two great granddaughters, Ashley M. Vinck and Sarah L. Vinck, both of Greensburg; one sister, Ethel Parker, a guest at Valley View Home. She was preceded in death by her son James R. Jr., who died Feb. 20, 1966, a sister Katie Harlow and a step-brother Don Harry.
She was of the Protestant faith. She had been employed by Baney’s Florists and, with her husband, had owned and operated the Atlantic Service Station at 14th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue in Tyrone.
Funeral service for Grace A. Gross was held Thursday, April 13, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc. with Gerry Gardner officiating. Interment at Friends Cemetery, Centre Line, Centre County. Friends were received at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday.
