Jessica Marie Engelbrecht, 32, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Tyrone was taken home to be with God, whom she loved deeply, on Monday, May 15, 2006. She was the victim of a tragic automobile accident near Clute, Texas.
She was born February 12, 1974 in Tyrone a daughter of Christopher and Patti Jo (Emigh) Futrick. On August 19, 2000 at West Point, N.Y. she married James Engelbrecht.
Surviving are her husband, her father of Tyrone, her mother of Altoona, a sister Amanda Jo Futrick Brooks of Tyrone, a brother Patrick Emigh of Altoona, a grandmother Janet Emigh of Tyrone, mother-in-law Mary Engelbrecht of Conroe, Texas, brother and sister-in-law Andrew and Amy Engelbrecht of Conroe, Texas and many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of St. Vincent Depaul Catholic Church, Houston, a 1992 graduate of Tyrone Area High School and a 1998 graduate of Point Park College, Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and a minor degree in fashion merchandising.
Jessica served as territorial manager for Karastan Rugs, Houston Division for the past two years. She was owner of Jessica Marie Cosmetics and was a make-up artist and did some modeling and television commercials.
Jessica rose from humble beginnings to become a great woman. She was known to everyone as one of the most energetic and loving people they had ever met. Known as a dreamer she accomplished almost everything that she undertook on sheer determination. To tell her that something was beyond her ability was to only spark the fire of her will. Her heart was her most unique element; she loved life and people and took action regardless of the situation. She believed she could make something positive happen and usually did. Her unending loyalty was just one more ingredient that set her apart. She could not be held back from supporting those she loved and would go out of her way, set aside herself and risk everything for them. Not only was she a great person, but she was one of the most beautiful women you could hope to meet. Her biggest dream was to raise a family which was not met. She will be missed more than mere words can relate.
She would have liked everyone to read Psalms 91, listen to “I’m Coming Home” by Robert Earl Keen, Jr. and for everyone to dance with her.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, May 20, 2006 at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph T. Orr Celebrant. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Feller Memorial Home on Friday from 2 to 9 p.m.
