The Emmanuel Baptist Church will be holding a number of summer activities this year.
The Church is holding its annual mission week with an “arctic edge” theme from June 25 to 30.
The events will kickoff with a special outdoor service at Hotel Park in downtown Tyrone on Sunday, June 25. Services will start at 10:30 a.m.
Starting on Monday, June 26 and continuing through Thursday, June 29, the church will hold its kids club and music camp at the Neptune Field. The kids club runs each day from 10 a.m. to noon and will resume with the music camp from 2 to 3:30 p.m. The kids club and music camp is open to children from Kindergarten to eighth grade. The event will have snacks, games and crafts and other activities and is free.
A blood drive is scheduled on Wednesday, June 28 from 4 p.m.. to 7 p.m. at the church located at 9 W. 10th St., Tyrone.
On Friday, June 30, Emmanuel Baptist Church will present a free concert and movie night. The concert will be held at Hotel Park starting at 7 p.m. The concert will be filled with great contemporary Christian rock music by the EBC praise and worship team. The movie will be shown in the M & T Bank parking lot next to Joybeans. It is scheduled to start at dusk. The movie is described as being a “funny adventure” about “a penguin’s search for a pebble to present to his lifelong mate” The event will also feature free snow cones and games.
Another free movie night is scheduled for Friday, July 21. The movie is described as “an awesome animated film about a heroic robot who puts aside his own dreams in order to save the city.”
According to a previous Daily Herald article, in the event of rain, the concert will be held in the Tyrone Community Players building on Logan Avenue and the family movies in the Emmanuel Baptist Church on 10th Street.
