A 35-year-old Port Matilda man, Joseph G. Fielding, sustained a head injury, when he was unable to negotiate his car through a left curve in the road on State Route 4027 in Snyder Township.
Fielding’s vehicle traveled south off the road and struck a group of trees. Upon impact, Fielding’s head struck a windshield. He was not wearing a seat belt.
Fielding was placed under arrest for DUI due to certain indicators and transported by AMED to Tyrone Hospital where he refused medical treatment. Police said Fielding was also taken to the hospital to give a blood sample for his blood alcohol content.

Two people were in a verbal altercation that became physical last Tuesday at 4:10 p.m. in Snyder Township.
Police said 37-year-old Christina M. Walters struck 31-year-old Dane R. Madron in the face. Madron shoved Walters to the ground. Both individuals are being charged with assault harassment.

An Altoona woman was involved in a one-vehicle accident on Route 220 at the intersection of Watts Road in Antis Township on Thursday at 7:25 p.m.
Tiffany Wolfe was going south on Route 220 and claimed a blue Neon ran her off the road. Her car went off the road and hit a tree. Wolfe was wearing a seat belt.

The Builders Surplus store in Antis Township was hit by a burglar sometime between 8 p.m. on Thursday and 8 a.m. on Friday.
Police said someone pried open a door and entered the building located on Forge Road. The person then entered the building and removed hand tools valued and $300 and about $38 in change. Police said damage to the doors was $100.
State police in Hollidaysburg are asking anyone with information to contact 696-6100.

A Tyrone man reported a theft of a rifle from his home in Snyder Township last week.
Police said Melvin Miller reported on Saturday that someone stole a .22 Marlin Rifle out of his house. Miller had reported the incident occurred sometime in the last half of the week.

A criminal mischief case happened on Sandy Run Road in the Pinecroft area of Antis Township on Saturday at 10:40 a.m.
Police said someone smashed the right front passenger window on a delivery truck belonging to the Frito Lay Company of Altoona. The damage to the window was estimated at $300. Anyone with information on the incident should contact Hollidaysburg-state police at 696-6100. The investigation is continuing.
