Tyrone Kiwanis and Club Altoona split a doubleheader on Tuesday at Ferner Field in Area 4 VFW Teener League baseball.
In a couple of close contests, Club Altoona was finally able to put the game away with three tallies in their final at-bat for a 10-8 win. In the second game Trevor Jackson and Korry Cowher combined to pitch Tyrone Kiwanis to a 4-3 decision.

Game one included a lot of scoring and lead changes with Club Altoona taking the final lead in the top half of the seventh inning by scoring three runs. The Kiwanis team was unable to score in the bottom half.
Greg Hughes and Cody Henderson had two hits a piece for Club Altoona, while Korry Cowher and Mark Bryan each recorded two hits for the Kiwanis Team. Jeff Rawson had a long single that plated 3 runs for Kiwanis as well in the losing effort.
The Kiwanis team had 11 hits but left 11 runners on base.
The winning pitcher was Mike Carrier for Club Altoona.

In the night cap, Trevor Jackson went 3 and 2/3 innings on the mound for his first start of the year allowing only three runs and walking only one batter, then Korry Cowher took the team the rest of the way allowing no runs over the rest of the game.
The Kiwanis team scored four runs on only six hits. Jordan Taylor and Mark Bryan accounted for four of the six hits.
Mike Dangal went 4-for-4 for Club Altoona while Josh King had two hits as well in the losing effort.
