The Bellwood-Antis girls volleyball team suffered their first regular season loss in two years on Monday night, falling to Bishop Guilfoyle at the Lady Marauders’ Pleasant Valley gymnasium. BG improves their record to 3-1, while the B-A girls fall to 3-1, their first regular season loss since Bishop Guilfoyle defeated the Lady Blue Devils on Sept. 27, 2004, a stretch of 33 straight match victories.
Bishop Guilfoyle won three of four games to earn the victory, winning 19-25, 25-18, 25-18, and 25-17 in a Mountain Athletic Conference interdivisional match.
Rachel Albright led Bellwood-Antis with 14 service points, and Andrea Gardner added 10 service points, and Lauren Leap had eight service points.
Kara Schroeder led the Lady Marauders with 12 kills, 10 blocks and eight service points.
The BG junior varsity defeated Bellwood-Antis 25-10, 25-21 to remain undefeated at 4-0.
Bellwood-Antis will host West Branch on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the B-A High School gymnasium.
