The Bellwood-Antis girls volleyball team sprinted past Moshannon Valley for their fourth straight triumph to improve to 13-2 overall and 11-0 in the Mountain Athletic Conference Division III play.
The Lady Blue Devils won 25-5, 25-5 jumping hard on the Moshannon Valley girls to win the first two games, then staved off a Lady Damsel effort to force the match to a fourth game, by edging Mo Valley 25-21.
Andrea Gardner led the Lady Blue Devils with seven digs and seven kills. Chelsea Wilson had 10 blocks and nine kills, to go with 16 service points. Lauren Leap added 15 service points and 23 assists. Jannell Wilt added eight service points, and Kristyn Ginter had six service points.
“The game was a solid team effort, with everybody contributing,” said Bellwood-Antis volleyball coach Allison Clabaugh.
The Bellwood-Antis girls volleyball team will travel to Claysburg on Tuesday for a match against the Claysburg-Kimmel Lady Bulldogs. A win would mark the Lady Blue Devils fourth consecutive undefeated season in MAC Division action, stretching the B-A girls all-time record in the division to 48-0.
The Bellwood-Antis junior varsity dropped a two games to one match to the Lady Damsels junior varsity. The B-A juniors won the middle game 25-22, but fell 25-18 and 16-6 in the first and third games.
Chelshea Thompson had 11 service points for the Bellwood-Antis JayVees, and Emily Sinisi added five service points.
