The Tyrone Hospital Development Council invites the public to attend its sixth annual Tree of Light ceremony to be held on Monday, December 4 at 6 p.m. in the main lobby at Tyrone Hospital.
The ceremony honors those businesses, individuals or deceased loved ones whose names have been placed on angels that are displayed on trees located in the hospital’s main lobby.
The ceremony will include the lighting of an exterior tree.
Brief comments will be made by Mr. Robert Smith, Vice President of the Tyrone Hospital Board of Directors; Mr. Walter S. Van Dyke, CEO at Tyrone Hospital and Mr. Randy Miles, Sr., Chairman of the Tyrone Hospital Development Council.
A spiritual message and blessing will be provided by Chaplain Joan Smith. Students from St. Matthew’s School will provide vocal selections for the event. A reception with refreshments will be held immediately following the ceremony.
Individuals may purchase angels to display on the Tree of Light for a donation of $5 or more. All funds raised via the Tree of Light will be used to help purchase an upgraded hood for Tyrone Hospital’s pharmacy at an estimated cost of $12,000. The pharmacy hood creates a germ free environment, a clean room, which is required for the pharmacist to mix antibiotics, IV solutions, intravenous nutrition solutions, and other medications for hospital patients.
Tree of Light donation forms are available for pick-up in the hospital’s main lobby or by calling 684-6348.
