The Antis Township Board of Supervisors held its reorganization meeting earlier this week.
Attorney Patrick Fanelli was appointed temporary Chairman to hear nominations for the Chairman of the Board.
Raymond Amato was reappointed as Board Chairman and Charles Taylor will once again fill the roll of Vice Chairman.
Jeff Ziegler was appointed Secretary/Treasurer and the treasurer’s bond was established at $750,000.
The firm of Andrews and Beard, with Fanelli as the designated Solicitor, was appointed and Chris Dutrow of Stiffler, McGraw and Associates was named as Township Engineer.
Ray Nycum was named as the Vacancy Board Member Chairman and Mary Ann Bennis was appointed as Real Estate Transfer Tax Collector. Commission to be received by Antis Township is 1/2 of one percent of the deed transfers. The Bellwood-Antis School District was appointed as the Earned Income Tax, Occupation Privilege and Flat Rate Occupation Tax Collector at a four percent commission.
Amato was appointed the voting delegate to the 2007 PSATS State Convention in Hershey in April and will also serve as a representative on the Antis Township Safety Committee.
Taylor was reappointed to serve on the Antis Township Planning Commission for a four-year term and will also serve on the 24-member Government Advisory Committee to the Blair County Planning Commission for 2007.
Robert Hornberger was appointed to the Antis Township Inactive Sewer Authority while Robert Smith will represent the board on the Blair County Sanitation Committee. Ken Hostler will continue working with the Bellwood-Antis Library Board.
Representative for Northern Blair County Regional Sewer Authority will be Leo Matuszewski and Susan Kensinger was appointed as a delegate for the 2007 Tax Collector’s Convention in October.
As per the union contract, the Supervisors established the week of July 9-13 as a shut down week for the year 2007.
Supervisors also established the dates and times for the monthly meetings as the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m.
Following the reorganization meeting, the board held a business meeting.
