This year, a committee was formed to plan an Irish Heritage Celebration for Tyrone for the week of March 10-17. Organizers, who met this week at Alice’s Garden, hope it will be the beginning of an annual event, that will continue to grow. Many events are being planned. Although some details are tentative, there is an overall outline of the week’s festivities that is in the works. The week will start out with a parade on March 13. Anyone wishing to participate in the week’s festivities should contact the Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce office at 684-0736. More information about the celebration can be found in the Chamber Tab, which is printed on pages 7 and 8 of today’s edition of The Daily Herald. (The Daily Herald/Mark Raffetto)
