B-A Public Library to hold winter used book sale
The B-A Public Library will hold a winter used book sale. Many novels, kid’s books, cook books and paperbacks will be available. The sale will run Thursday until 8 p.m.; Friday from noon until 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday, February 5, from noon to 8 p.m. will be a $2 a bag day to conclude the sale.

WM Little League sign-ups
Warriors Mark Little League will be holding sign-ups on Thursday, February 1 and Wednesday, February 7 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Warriors Mark Fire Hall.
Any boy or girl born between May 1, 1994 and April 30, 2002 is eligible to play.
There are registration fees. Players must reside in Warriors Mark Township, Franklin Township, Spruce Creek Township or Snyder Township (Blair County). Warriors Mark Little League is a part of the Tri-County Little League consisting of teams from Port Matilda, Huston Township, Halfmoon Township and Warriors Mark.
The normal season of play lasts from the beginning of April through the end of June. Anyone with questions can contact Jim Dorminy, President at 632-7514.

Collecting donations for CPHS
Cub Scout Pack 320 will be collecting donations of pet food items, litter, and cleaning supplies (detergent, bleach, etc.), as a community service project to benefit the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society from Feb. 1 through Feb. 10. A donation box will be available at Martin\’s Food Store, Bellemeade location during this time. For additional information contact Harry Mogle at 684-4263.

Senior night
The TAHS Basketball Booster Club will be sponsoring \”Senior Nights\” for the basketball team. Senior athletes, along with their parents, will be honored for all their hard work and dedication.
Senior Night for the Boys will be held on Friday, February 2. The program will begin following the junior varsity games at approximately 6:45 p.m.

Buffet dinner
The Warriors Mark United Methodist Church will host a buffet dinner on Friday, February 2 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
The dinner will feature meat loaf, turkey broccoli bake, sour cream noodles, candied sweet potatoes, buttered peas, toss salad, rolls and graham cracker pudding. The Warriors Mark Church is handicapped accessible. Anyone with questions can contact the church office at 632-6906.

Kids Bible basketball camp
Hey Kids! Kids Bible basketball camp at the Warriors Mark United Methodist Church is almost here.
The kids Bible basketball camp is ready to take kids to the next level in their game on Saturday, February 3 and Saturday, February 10. From 1 to 3 p.m. each day, kids will experience a clinic, a message, music and games for kids in K through fifth grades. Parents are encouraged to stay around and see what surprises may unfold each day.
Pastor Matthew Lake from the 2nd Avenue United Methodist Church, Altoona, will be the featured speaker on February 3. Jim Kilmartin from Joshua House will be the featured speaker on February 10.
No registration fee required. There will be a love offering basket for donations.

Saturday night light
Bald Eagle United Methodist Church invites the community to \”Saturday night Light\” this Saturday at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall of the church. Saturday Night Light is filled with contemporary Christian Music, laughter, conversation, and light refreshments. Live Music provided by our own \”Praise Unplugged\”. This service is normally held on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays but we are putting in this Saturday\’s service as an extra because last week had to be canceled due to our furnace situation. Come warm yourself up with God\’s love.

Faces and Places Ministries casting for spring production
Faces and Places Ministries recently announced the spring production will be “David, A Man After God\’s Own Heart”.
In May, Faces and Places Ministries will launch this sprawling epic of an ancient time summed up in one man\’s life, King David.
For interested individuals, Faces and Places Ministries will be casting all roles for this production on Sunday, February 4 at 2:30 p.m. at the new building, Faces and Places Ministries Center for the Christian Arts, located at 954 Logan Ave.

Presbyterians To Focus On Faith For Today
At 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, February 4, 2007, Interim Pastor Norman Huff will lead the 82 members of Tyrone Presbyterian Church in a worship service entitled “Focus On Faith For Today”.
Pastor Huff will deliver a message about faith based on the revised lectionary scripture readings.
The Westminster Choir will offer an anthem entitled “My Faith Has Found A Resting Place”.
Today, as the Iraq War continues to darken the horizon, modern Tyrone Presbyterians invite believers to join their worship leader Reverend Huff and church members at 10:30 a.m. this Sunday, February 4, as they give thanks for the faith of their spiritual ancestors, and then focus on strengthening their faith for today.

Turkey/Roast beef dinner
The Port Matilda Fire Company will offer a choice of turkey or roast beef dinner with vegetables, dessert and a drink on Sunday, February 4 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Takeouts will be available. This is open to everyone.

Souperbowl Sunday
Bald Eagle and Grazierville United Methodist Churches join other community churches in celebrating Souperbowl Sunday, this Sunday, February 4. Folks attending the service at Grazierville are invited to bring donations of canned soup and/or dollar bills for the soup kettle. Folks attending services at Bald Eagle are invited to bring donations of non-perishable foods of their choice, and/or dollar bills for the kettle. All donations will go to the Tyrone Food Pantry.

Thinking about starting a business?
The Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce and the Juniata College Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership present free entrepreneurial workshops. The workshops are open to any individual who is interested in starting a business.
The workshops will be held at the Bull Pen Restaurant banquet room. On Tuesday, February 6 from 3 to 5 p.m. the topic will be entrepreneur and start-up. Then from 6 to 8 p.m. the topic will be entrepreneur and legal issues.

TYBA registration
Tyrone Youth Baseball Association will hold registration for major and minor league baseball teams on Tuesday, February 6 and Wednesday, February 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bull Pen.
Any boy or girl born between May 1, 1994 and April 30, 2002 is eligible to play.
Interested individuals must have an original copy of their birth certificate. Anyone who did not return last year’s uniform are asked to bring it to registration.

Allegheny Chorale spring season
Allegheny Chorale is scheduled to started practice for its spring season in the TAHS Chorus Room.
Any adults interested in joining, and also tenth through 12th grade students, are invited to attend the practices. The deadline for new members is February 6.
