Tyrone’s seventh grade basketball team won their last two outings at the Building II league with victories over Hollidaysburg 34-14, and Bellwood-Antis 35-23, and improved their overall record to 18-3.
Against Hollidaysburg, the Eagles’ J. D. Dorminy led the way offensively with game high eight points. Followed by teammates Nick Romano and Jared Schaffer each racking up six points.
Defensively, The Eagles’ Tyler Friday and Jordon Corl hounded the ball up front most of the game forcing the Hollidaysburg offense into countless turnovers.
Versus Bellwood-Antis, the Eagles came out hot going up 15-3, led by Richard Crabtree with a game high nine points, followed by J. D. Dorminy with eight, and Steve Franco with seven points.
Bellwood-Antis fought back in the second half cutting into the lead making it 25-23 with five minutes remaining, but Tyrone went on a late run aided by Jared Schaffer’s four points in the last minutes of the game.
Tyrone plays Bishop Guilfoyle, Saturday, March 3 at 5:00 p.m. at the Building II.
