Spring has arrived, and that means the Tyrone Area Community Organization has announced two upcoming outdoor events for area youth to enjoy.
First, TACO has scheduled its annual Easter Egg Hunt for Saturday, March 31 at Reservoir Park.
The event will begin at 4 p.m. at Table No. 1. Children up to 12-years-old may participate.
The Easter Bunny will be there for pictures with the children. The rain date is Saturday, April 7.
Also, TACO has scheduled its annual Fish Rodeo at Reservoir Park for Saturday, April 28 from 8 a.m. to noon. Children up to 15-years-old may participate.
Trophies will be awarded for the largest fish of the day and the first fish of the day.
Also, trophies will be awarded to boys and girls in each age group for the largest fish caught and the total inches caught. The age groups are: one to four, five to eight, nine to 12 and 13 to 15-years-old.
Throughout the year, TACO sponsors such events as the Easter egg hunt, the Fish Rodeo, the Tyrone Halloween parade, a Distinguished Service Award and Boss of the Year Award.
It also sponsors a pee-wee baseball team and youth football competition as well as awards four scholarships of $500 each to seniors at Tyrone Area High School.
