Clyde M. ‘Hank’ Brower of 2121 Columbia Ave., Tyrone died Thursday, May 17, 2007 at his home. He had been in failing health since January 2007.
He was born May 20, 1930 in Tyrone, a son of Benner B. and Margaret (Light) Brower. He was married to Alice Goss on June 23, 1947 at the Church of the Brethren, Tyrone by Rev. Rhinehart.
Surviving are his wife, two daughters, Alice Diehl and husband Robert of RD 3 Tyrone, Cynthia Brower of Tyrone, three sons, Alvah and wife Ann, Calvin and wife Vicky, and Thomas all of Tyrone, 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren and a brother Harold F. ‘Bones’ Brower of Bellwood.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Ella Fink, Viola Coover, Violet Brower, and Marie Brower and three brothers, Robert, Harry, and Benjamin B. Brower.
Mr. Brower retired in July 1990 from the Chicago Rivet and Machine Company, Tyrone as a tool crib attendant following 37 years service. He was previously employed at the former Rothert Furniture Co., Tyrone for eight years.
He was a member of the Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Fire Company, Janesville VFW, Beech Creek American Legion, Bellwood Eagles and the Central District Firemen’s Association.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 21, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Feller Memorial Home with Rev. Tim Miller and Rev. Earl Sones officiating. Interment will follow at Baughman Cemetery. Friends will be received at Feller Memorial Home on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
