Practice went pretty good today, I think it was our best practice. Our defense played tough, our offense was clicking. We were hitting passes for the first time that we haven’t hit all week. Eric Desch was catching a lot of passes, so was Shane Emigh, Shayne Tate.
The morning rain didn’t really have much effect on the practice, it cooled it down for a little bit, but other that that no effect. Besides that, we like to play in the rain, it changes things up a little bit.
We are missing the experience that we have had at the previous camps since I was a ninth grader. We don’t have all the linemen we have had in recent years.
We have to find people to become leaders. Over the last few years, we have had leaders who were just outspoken. This year’s seniors are really quiet, so we are trying to have some seniors step up and take the leadership.
If I had the choice to go only one way, I would chose defense because I like to hit people.
It makes things interesting to have my dad as my head coach. I know him and I know how he coaches because I have been to all the practices since I was little. I know what he expects from everybody. Really, it’s been fun.
My buddy is Dan Benson. The buddy system is great, we get to learn about the younger kids and it helps create a bond to the team.
The Bellwood game is the biggest game of the season. It doesn’t matter, district championship or anything, that’s the biggest game we play. We get hyped up for it for a year after the season is over. It means everything. If we don’t beat, it’s like the season is lost.
