Mabel V. Bresler, age 97, of the Golden Living Center-HAIDA in Hastings, formerly of Pennsylvania Furnace, died Tuesday, September 9, 2008 in Hastings.
She was born in Pennsylvania Furnace on June 20, 1911, the daughter of Winfield (Scott) Bresler and Lydia (Barto) Bresler.
She was never married.
Surviving is one brother, Roy M. Bresler of Graysville, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Gates and Elsie Thomas; and one brother, Adison Bresler.
Ms. Bresler was a graduate of State College High School and a graduate of Lock Haven State Teachers College, with a degree in Elementary Education. She first taught at the Marengo one room school house and then, for 30-plus years, she taught second grade at the Ferguson Elementary School in Pine Grove Mills.
She was a member of the Gatesburg Lutheran Church.
Funeral services will be Saturday, September 13, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Gatesburg Lutheran Church with Reverend Susan Williamson. Burial will be at Gatesburg Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
