Theft
State police report that sometime between September 10 through 11 unknown actor(s) entered a storage shed owned by Clarence Rhoades of RD 5 Box 635 Tyrone at Rhoades Trailer Park off of Bel Tip Rd., Tipton, Antis Township. The actor(s) reportedly took possession of a propane heater and attached propane tank and fled the area. The items stolen are valued at $300.

Hot in here
On Thursday, September 13, a vehicle operated by Luke Friday, 28, of Tyrone, caught on fire while driving south on I-99 near mile marker 48, Snyder Township. Friday observed smoke in his 1996 Chevrolet Blazer’s interior. He pulled to the berm and saw smoke coming from the engine compartment. Friday fled from the vehicle as it began to burn. State police reported that Friday was wearing his seat belt and he was not injured, and the fire was a result of mechanical failure. Tyrone Volunteer Fire Company and Fire Police arrived on the scene to extinguish the flames and direct traffic.

Scattering rubbish
State police at Hollidaysburg report that between September 10 through 12 unknown actor(s) dumped refuse on property owned by Glen Ray of Tyrone, located along Old Route 220, village of Northwood, Snyder Township. The investigation is ongoing.

Brandishing a butcher knife
A 17-year old female juvenile was arrested by state police on September 12 for brandishing a butcher knife at her father during a domestic dispute. The incident occurred at a residence along Cedar Lane, Antis Township. The female involved was taken into custody and committed to the Blair County Juvenile Detention Center. Court action pends.

Aluminum sale scrapped
Richard James Cromwell, 46, Altoona, allegedly attempted to sell scrap aluminum at Caracciolo Scrap Yard, Antis Township on September 11 and 12. The aluminum attempted to be sold had identifying marks that the aluminum belonged to Caracciolo Scrap Yard. State police report charges will be filed against Cromwell for theft and receiving stolen property.

Items stolen
On September 9 in Greystone Court, Antis Township, state police report that Seth Gilbert Dudrow, 32, Hedgesville, WV, stole a model boat and a candle in a glass jar owned by Anita Joy Snyder, 32, Bellwood. Dudrow gave the boat to his grandmother, who resides at Greystone Court. The boat was recovered and the candle was not.

Pointed Gun
State police reported on September 11 in the Juniata Packing parking lot in Tyrone, Sean Patrick Boyles, 23, Altoona, a former employee of Juniata Packing, was sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot waiting to pick up his girlfriend. The victim, Rick Allen Kenworthy, 45, Altoona, an employee, approached Boyles’ vehicle and as Kenworthy arrived at the driver’s side of the vehicle, Boyles reportedly pointed a loaded revolver at him. After Boyles pointed the weapon at him, Kenworthy departed the scene. Charges for terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment have been filed against Boyles.

Janet D. Miller, South Mountain Rd., Taylor Township, Tyrone, reported that her mailbox was damaged on September 8. Amount of damage was estimated at $25.

Burglary
State police in Huntingdon are investigating a burglary and theft by unlawful taking at the residence of Nancy and Tyler Wirtner, 3847 Burket Rd., Warriors Mark Township. The incident occurred on September 7 when unknown actor(s) approached and entered the residence and removed several items. The actor(s) then fled in an unknown direction by unknown means.

Simple Assault
On September 5, Richard Warren Shade, 34, lot 25 Miller’s Trailer Court, Stadium Drive, Bellwood, was assaulted by a male known to him. State police report that Shade was transported to the Altoona Hospital Emergency Room for treatment of his injuries.

Car windows damaged
Two juvenile boys, ages 16 and 17, both residents of Greentree Village, Snyder Township, intentionally damaged bus windows and the roof of a Chrysler Concorde that were parked on the grounds on September 4. Total damage has yet to be determined.

Crash
On September 6, state police in Hollidaysburg report that Danielle M. Corrigan, 25, Tyrone, was traveling south of the Tipton Exit on I-99 when her 1999 Mercury Cougar abruptly exited the roadway to the left and traveled into the center median area. The vehicle had moderate damage. Corrigan sustained minor injuries and was wearing her seat belt.
