On Saturday, September 22, new band director Mark Murphy and the Tyrone Area High School Marching Band will host the “Tournament of Bands” competition at Gray-Veterans Memorial Field beginning at 6:30 p.m.
It is the first competition of 2007 for Chapter VI.
There will be seven high school marching bands representing and competing for their schools which include: Tyrone, Bellwood-Antis, Conemaugh Township, DuBois, Somerset, St. Mary’s and Windber.
The gates open at Gray Field at 5:15 p.m. and general admissions tickets cost $5. Children under 5 will be admitted free of charge.
