The 24th Annual Farm/City Day at Reservoir Park is fast approaching, as the Rotary Club of Tyrone has the event scheduled for this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine.
The event is free and open to the public, and it’s always an exciting day for both young and old alike.
To accommodate the improved booth arrangement, all traffic must enter the park from Reservoir Drive.
For the kids, there will be a petting zoo, hay wagon and fire truck rides, children’s activities and more.
There will also be farm machines on display along with entertainment, souvenirs and food and drinks, including homemade baked goods and produce.
An assortment of crafters and vendors will set up booths along with various non-profit organizations’ fundraisers.
There will also be special promotions throughout the day.
As always, the 2007 Rotary Farm/City Day souvenir t-shirts, designed each year for this special event, will be available for purchase.
Since the Rotary Club of Tyrone was organized in 1939, it has made special efforts to establish and maintain close relationships between Tyrone Borough and the surrounding rural areas. Rotary members accomplished this with the establishment of Farmers’ Night, where the community members and the neighboring farmers got to know one another better in a carnival atmosphere. Over the years, Farmers’ Night evolved into Rural Urban Day and now, Farm/City Day.
