Pennsylvania Advocates for Nutrition and Activity’s 2007 Walk to/at School Day was held yesterday at the Tyrone Area School District in conjunction with International Walk to School Day. This event is designed to build support for creating safe routes to school in communities throughout the Commonwealth and for implementing supervised walk to school programs in Pennsylvania schools. Tyrone Elementary students participated in the day’s activities by walking two laps around the school campus, including both the elementary and high school buildings. It was a beautiful day for the event as students and staff enjoyed spending some time outside in the sun. (The Daily Herald/Amanda Golden)
