Tyrone Hospital is now providing a diagnostic sleep laboratory.‑
The laboratory provides tests that evaluate people whose sleep pattern is disrupted because of breathing problems.
Many individuals suffer from breathing problems such as snoring, gasping for air, or they completely stop breathing at intervals while they are asleep.‑These conditions seriously disrupt a person’s sleep pattern and can lead to serious, even life threatening illnesses if not properly addressed. Tests that are most frequently used to evaluate sleep disorders are Polysomnography, Polysomnography with CPAP, and Multiple Sleep Latency Test.‑All of these are now available at Tyrone Hospital. The tests evaluate the way different body functions are affected when a person’s sleep is disrupted by breathing problems.
The results of sleep studies performed at Tyrone Hospital will be interpreted by Richard Hale, D.O. Dr. Hale is board certified in pulmonary medicine, critical care medicine, and internal medicine.
