Phyllis J. Sweitzer, 85, of Tipton died Tuesday evening, October 16, 2007 at Altoona Regional Health System, Bon Secours Campus.
She was born January 11, 1922 in Tyrone, a daughter of the late Arthur and Mabel (Lilly) Keppler. She married Pastor Paul V. Sweitzer on August 15, 1951 at Grace Bible Church, Tyrone.
Surviving are her husband; sons: Michael P. Sweitzer and wife, Cathy of RD 3 Altoona and Philip J. Sweitzer, Esq. of Frederick, MD; a daughter: Paula J. Sweitzer of Tipton; grandsons: Doug Sweitzer of Altoona and Mark Sweitzer of Spring City, PA.
She was preceded in death by brothers: William, Arthur, Robert and Jack Keppler.
Phyllis was a member of Tipton Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Guild. She also attended Port Matilda Baptist Church.
She enjoyed cooking and baking.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, October 19, 2007 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2007 at Tipton Baptist Church with Pastor John Pine officiating.
Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
