Trick-or-treat night is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25 in Blair County, including Tyrone, Bellwood, Antis Township, Snyder Township and Warriors Mark.
However, for those who don’t want to go door to door that evening, there are several alternatives.
First Assembly of God Church will host its annual “Light the Night” event from 6 to 8 p.m. in the church’s parking lot behind Burger King.
There will be games, prizes, face painting, puppet shows, Handi the Clown, candy, hot dogs, popcorn and hot chocolate. This event is free.
Bible Baptist Church will also be sponsoring a “Fall Fellowship” on trick-or-treat night from 6 to 8 p.m.
The church is located at 1455 Hamilton Avenue, behind Bressler’s Food Mart, and the event is free to the public.
There will be games and prizes, balloons, candy, popcorn, hotdogs, and drinks during the event.
Finally, a “Light the Night” activity will be held at the residence of Lynn and Shelby Shaffer at 2114 Columbia Avenue.
The whole family is invited to spend the evening enjoying events such as games, music, food and door prizes.
Activities are scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. A youth rally will follow, beginning at 8 p.m.
The event is free to the public and made possible by donations from the community.
For more information, to help, or donate to the event call Shelby at 684-3547.
Trick-or-treating door-to-door can be a dangerous activity without the appropriate supervision and precautions. Wear bright colors and make sure masks do not hinder the ability to see.
These Light the Night events provide a fun and safe alternative environment for children and families during Halloween.
But remember, there will be many children going door-to-door Thursday evening so be cautious when driving and watch for trick-or-treaters.
