Faces & Places Ministries is preparing for its upcoming production. The group will present C.S. Lewis’ classic children’s story, “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”.
The live stage production is set to be performed November 10, 11, 17 and 18, beginning each evening at 7 p.m.
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe will feature many familiar faces bringing the characters to life including Frank Filkosky and RJ Beck as Peter; Olivia Tangen and Kathleen Beck as Susan; Nick Bonsell as Edmund and Eliza Tangen and Marlena Wagner as Lucy.
The four Pevensie children are deported from London to the house of an eccentric professor, portrayed by Dan Miller, and his housekeeper Mrs. McCready, played by Joellyn Miller, during World War II.
The children find life in the house extremely dull, until Lucy discovers a wardrobe that leads to a magical world called Narnia where animals can talk, including Mr. Tumnus, the faun, brought to life by Drew M. Baker and the Beavers, portrayed by Betsy Beck and Linda Strong.
All of Narnia is ruled by the wise and benevolent lion, Aslan, played by David Beck.
The others don\\\’t believe Lucy at first, but soon all of them go through the wardrobe and discover all is not well in Narnia. The land is being kept in a perpetual winter by the evil White Witch, Jadis (Donna Derdel). The witch uses her deep power to turn anyone who doesn\\\’t obey her into stone. She also has many servants to help keep Narnia under her icy grasp.
The children soon join Aslan and the animals loyal to him in an attempt to vanquish the White Witch from Narnia. An epic battle ensues that will change the land of Narnia forever.
Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for senior citizens and $5 for children/students and can be obtained by calling the ministry offices at 932-4085 or by emailing tickets@facesandplacesministries.org.
