Tyrone first baseman Amanda Detwiler broke up a no-hitter in the bottom of the third inning against Central Mountain’s Taylor Lesser at the hilltop diamond at the Harry K. Sickler Athletic Complex on Tuesday. Unfortunately for the Lady Eagles, that was the only highlight, in fact their only hit, while 10 was the majic number for Central Mountain. The Lady Wildcats had 10 hits and 10 runs in a 10-0 win, plus winning pitcher Lesser had 10 strikeouts.
Ashlyn Rickert had a double for the only extra-base hit by either team, three hits and four RBI, to lead the Lady Wildcats.
Ariane Miller struck out five and walked four for the Lady Eagles.
Lesser fanned 10 and walked a pair to pick up the win.
Tyrone (0-15) hosts Altoona on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. in the final home game for the Lady Eagles, then travels to Bellefonte on Friday to close out the 2008 season.
