Alleged rape
The PA State Police in Hollidaysburg recently took a report of an alleged rape of a female victim that occurred at the Knights Inn in Antis Township sometime in early December of 2007. The investigation is on-going and there are no further details to report at this time.

Lost control
On January 17, state police reported Douglas A. Grier, 66, Tyrone was traveling south on SR 453 just south of Huntingdon Furnace Road when he lost control on the snow covered roadway spinning counter-clockwise, crossed over the oncoming lane of traffic, left the eastern side of the roadway and struck the embankment. Grier then continued south spinning counter-clockwise and struck the embankment again, coming to rest facing west in the northbound lane. Grier was wearing a seat belt and no injuries were reported by police. Warriors Mark Vol. Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Aggravated indecent assault
State police and the Blair County Children and Youth Services are investigating an allegation from a female juvenile that an adult male had inappropriately touched her on many occasions over the past year and a half. The incidents occurred at a residence along SR 867 in Taylor Township. The investigation is on-going and state police have no further information at this time.

One vehicle crash
State police reported on January 17 that Thomas H. Sherman, 60, Johnstown was traveling south on I-99 at mile marker 55, Snyder Township. Due to speed, Sherman lost control and slid into the guiderail at the west edge of the roadway; coming to rest on the west berm. Sherman suffered no injury and was wearing a seat belt. A citation was filed against Sherman for Driving Vehicle at Unsafe Speed.

Too fast on snowy road
On January 17, state police reported Megan Ann Johnson, 24, Tyrone was traveling east on SR 4020 in the Village of Reightown, Antis Township at too great of speed on the snow covered roadway. Johnson entered into a left curve in the roadway and she lost control of her vehicle. She slid straight in the curve and upon impact, her car’s front end impacted a telephone pole at the north edge and apex of the curve. Johnson’s car came to rest against the pole and in the west travel lane. A citation was filed against Johnson for Driving Vehicle at Unsafe Speed.

Retail theft
On January 18, state police stated that a Rossi’s Corner Store employee reported that an older white male driving a dark blue PT Cruiser pumped $31 worth of gas at the store’s location along SR 1001 in Tipton, and then left without paying for it.
