Huntingdon (11-2) took four of the first five, and 10 of the first 12 weight classes to claim a 49-21 triumph over the Tyrone wrestlers at Tyrone on Tuesday evening.
Anthony Romano (20-5) notched his 20th win of the season, to get the Eagles on the scoreboard, after Huntingdon jumped out to a 10-0 team lead with bonus points in each of the first two weight classes.
Romano took Mark Smyers down and turned him for three nearfall points, then later again for the first-period fall in 1:15, to slice the Bearcat lead to 10-6.
Nathan Mykut opened the match at 119, with a 9-1 major decision over Donnie Hunter (1-1), then Addison Yingling pinned Chase Weaver (7-11) at 125.
After Landon Yingling decisioned Cody Weaver (13-8) by a 10-3 count, and Jake Myers decisioned James Weston 5-2, Tyrone junior Jeremy Barlett (14-6) continued a strong season with his 10th straight win. Barlett led 5-0 after one period, then escaped and scored three takedowns in the middle stanza to rake up the 13-2 major decision at 145.
Tyrone forfeited to Huntingdon’s Pete Mykut at 152, and Kyle Thompson pinned Cody Smith (1-15) in 1:03 at 160.
In what was probably the premier match-up of the dual meet, Tyrone’s Shayne Tate and Huntingdon’s undefeated and returning Class AA PIAA state qualifier Bobby Mort battled at 171. Tate drew first blood with a takedown in the opening period, and Mort escaped for a 2-1 lead for the Eagle senior. Mort, chose the bottom position to begin the middle period, escaped and then took Tate down for a 4-2 advantage after four minutes. Tate (17-5) picked neutral with both wrestlers on their feet to start the third period and neither adversary could score a point, with Mort (25-0) remaining undefeated.
The Huntingdon heavyweights put the match out of reach for Tyrone. Jake Reid pinned Dustin Weaver (0-18) in 1:41 at 189, Jason Everhart pinned Corey Barnhart (2-13) in 3:18, at 215 and at heavyweight, Andrew Sarra pinned Dalaun Carroll (3-10), in 4:40.
The Golden Eagles closed the gap with a pin and a tech fall in the final two weight classes.
At 103, Ronnie Garbinsky (21-1) was in total control of the match against Chris Shope, leading 9-0 when he pinned the Bearcat in 4:55. Garbinsky had a five-point move on a takedown and back points in the first period, used a reversal in the second period and then reversed Shope in the third stanza.
A.J. Schopp (22-2) led 5-0 and 7-0 after the first two periods against Jesse Runk at 112, before using a takedown, penalty point for stalling, and five back points to record a 16-0 technical fall in 5:54 to close out the varsity dual.

Huntingdon made it a clean sweep by taking the junior high match as well, 60-24.
Dylan Weston (90), Tyler Osterhout (105) and Brandon Parks (185) won by pin for the Golden Eagles Junior High. Andrew Warrender (115) and Christian Getz (122) won by regular decision.
