Edward Joseph Hribik, Sr., 74, of Tipton died Tuesday morning, February 5, 2008 at his home.
He was born March 18, 1933 in Ford City, a son of the late Stefan and Mary (Bordick) Hribik. He married Rita Jean Bernat on August 7, 1954 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church East Vandergrift.
Surviving are his wife; sons: Edward J., Jr. (Terry L.) of Tyrone RD3 and Gary A. (Debra) of Corona, CA.; grandchildren: Brandon M. and Krista M. Hribik; sister in law: Lynn Hribik of Ford City; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew J. Hribik and two brothers.
Ed retired in 1995 as a maintenance technician at PPG Industries, Tipton with 44 years of service.
He was an Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.
Ed was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Bellwood.
He was a member of the Tyrone Elks, Tyrone Hookies and a former member of the Sinking Valley Country Club.
He was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman, and also an avid sports fan.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2008 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood where a vigil for the deceased will be held.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Bellwood by Rev. David H. Roesch.
Committal at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township, PA.
