DUI accident
State police reported on May 17 that Clinton T. Gauntner, 26, Altoona was driving on N. 13th St. at the end of the road in Antis Twp. and continued down a driveway through a yard, then a fence into a field. He drove through the field until he got stuck in the mud. Gauntner was found by police sitting in the driver’s seat. He was taken to the hospital for a blood test for alcohol, as alcohol was suspected for the reason of the crash. Charges are pending.

Thrown through window
On May 17, William Welch, 18, Altoona and two known juveniles from Philadelphia, all residents at Greentree Village in Snyder Twp., engaged into a fight with each other. One of the juveniles was thrown through a window during the scuffle and taken to Altoona Hospital for treatment of minor cuts from broken glass.

Theft and Criminal Mischief
State police reported on May 18 that a known person 30 years of age arrived at S. First St. in Bellwood Borough and gained entry into a vehicle owned by Christopher Hammond, 30, Bellwood. The suspect stole property belonging to Hammond and Brittany Guida, 21, Bellwood, and then fled the scene. The suspect returned to the scene a second time to confront Guida as to why Hammond was staying at her residence, and created a disturbance that awoke the other persons in the residence and neighbors. Estimated stolen property amount was $350. Damage caused included a driver side window, dented hood, and damaged windshield, which totaled $1,000 in damage.
