Mrs. Eleanor F. Fisher, age 80, of Warriors Mark and a guest at Epworth Manor died Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at ARHS, Altoona Hospital Campus following an extended illness. She was born April 13, 1927 in Tyrone, the daughter of Byron M. and Anna Mae Allison Foust. On September 12, 1959 she was married to James A. Fisher who survives. Also surviving is a sister, Marion (William) Reed of Tyrone. She was preceded in death by one sister and five brothers – Charlotte, Kenneth, Byron, Robert, Ted and Victor.
Eleanor was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and the Warriors Mark Fire Company Auxiliary. She was a graduate of Tyrone High School Class of 1945 and had been employed as a secretary and specification clerk at Westvaco for 43 years, retiring in 1987. At one time she had been an avid bowler.
Funeral services for Eleanor F. Fisher will be Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc. with Reverend Dr. Dennis R. Gable officiating. Interment will be in Bald Eagle Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
