Slid off road
On Feb. 22, state police reported Shauna L. Spicer, 27, Tyrone was traveling north along SR 4025 in Snyder Twp. when her vehicle slid off the slush covered road while rounding a curve. Spicer struck a utility pole on the right side of the road. The vehicle was towed. Spicer was wearing her seat belt.

Lost control
On Feb. 22, Josephine E. Zeigler, 48, Tyrone and Richard D. Empfield, 35, Windber were traveling south in separate vehicles on SR 4027, just north of the Tyrone Paper Mill area in Snyder Twp, according to state police. As Zeigler was negotiating a left curve, she lost control due to excess speed for the existing roadway and weather conditions. Zeigler struck the west guiderail barrier, rotated clockwise, came to rest in the middle of the roadway, and was struck by the left front of the vehicle driven by Empfield. Both drivers were wearing seat belts. The investigation is continuing.

Harassment
State police reported on Feb. 22 that Andrew James Woolford, 20, Tyrone arrived at Adam, 19 and Steven, 23, Ozio’s residence along SR 1001 near SR 865 in Antis Twp. An argument occurred over a hat. Woolford struck both of the Ozios and both of the Ozios struck Woolford. All three men will receive citations.

Struck two trees
John B. Miles, 24, Warriors Mark was traveling northbound along SR 0350 in Warriors Mark Twp. on Feb. 23 and lost control of his vehicle while negotiating a left curve on SR 0350. State police reported that Miles struck two trees on the left side of the roadway. Miles was wearing a seat belt and no injuries were reported.

Domestic argument
On Feb. 24, state police reported during a domestic argument, Frank John Deleo, 45, Bellwood struck, grabbed and otherwise made physical contact with Kelley Ann Musto, 44, Bellwood. A citation for harassment will be filed against Deleo. The incident occurred along N. 10th St. in Antis Twp.

Hit and run
According to state police, on Feb. 24 Deann S. Mengle, 43, Tyrone backed into a 2000 Ford Contour in a parking lot in Antis Twp. and then left the scene without giving her information to the owner of the Contour. A witness who observed the crash reported it to the owner and the police were called. Police summoned Mengle back to the scene and she was cited for Hit and Run.

Second fire in a week
On Sunday morning, Feb. 24 a fire occurred at the residence of Patrick R. Drass, 61, Bellwood, along Railroad St. The fire involved the Drass garage and two vehicles. This was the second fire to occur at this residence this week. Damage is estimated to be at $30,000. Anyone with information is asked to call the state police at 814-696-6100.

Accident with injury
State police reported on Feb. 25 that Matthew Day of Tyrone was traveling west on Decker Hollow Rd. and Lori Maier of Tyrone was traveling east on the same roadway. Day failed to see Maier and her vehicle approaching, and began to turn left onto Hickory Lane in the path of Maier. The front of Maier’s vehicle hit the right side of Day’s vehicle. Maier was taken to Tyrone Hospital for injuries. Day was cited for turning left into the path of another vehicle. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
