The Tyrone Elks has announced the “Teenagers of the Month” of the senior class at Tyrone Area High School for the months of December, January and February.
Award recipients are judged on the basis of multiple achievements, including: character, leadership, service, citizenship and scholastics.
The teenager of the month for December was Brock Anders, whose school activities included football, baseball, FBLA and Key Club. Out of school, he helped out at blood drives and did some umpiring. A special achievement for Brock was being a member of the National Honor Society, and he has work experience at DelGrosso’s and at Penn State home football games.
Another teenager of the month for December was Jessica Miller, who participated in Key Club, National Honor Society, Prom Committee and volleyball. Out of school, she was involved in Leadership Blair County Youth and her church youth group. A special achievement for Jessica was being a member of National Honor Society, and her work experience includes Walk’s Photography, Tyrone Borough Lifeguard and babysitting.
January’s teenager of the month was Britany Koegler, who participated in band, indoor majorettes, indoor colorguard and Spanish Club. She also volunteered at Epworth Manor, and a special honor for Britany includes the Sheetz Showmanship Award. She has work experience at DelGrosso’s.
Another January teen of the month was Christi Stringer, who participated in student council; marching, concert and jazz band; Key Club, Spanish Club, POPS Extension and softball. She participated in her church youth group, and a special achievement for Christi was being a member of the National Honor Society. Her work experience includes DelGrosso’s Amusement Park.
The teenager of the month for February was David Rudy, who has participated in FFA and St. Matthew’s Bingo. His work experience includes Sheetz and St. Matthew’s Bingo.
Another teenager of the month for February was Vincent Gray who participated in B.S.A. and martial arts. Special honors for Vincent include earning both an Eagle Scout rank and a Black Belt. His work experience includes DelGrosso’s Amusement Park.
