People who have been hospitalized for surgery, joint replacement, stroke, or other injuries or illnesses can now receive short term inpatient rehabilitation and skilled nursing care at Tyrone Hospital.
Join Tyrone Hospital for a presentation to meet the interim care staff and learn:
• who is eligible for the interim care program
• what kind of care is provided
• how to get transferred to interim care from another hospital
• what insurances pay for interim care
The presentation is free and open to the public. People of all ages are welcome. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, June 25 from 11 a.m. to noon at the Tyrone Senior Center, 503 3rd Street, Tyrone.
The featured speakers will be:
• Chris Illig, LPN, Interim Care Coordinator
• Annette Lynn, Case Manager
• Shelley Hanczar, OTR, ProCare
Accessible transportation is available by calling 695-3500 (1-800-458-5552) by June 18.

Tyrone Area High School’s production of “West Side Story” won big at the Isaac Awards held recently.
Awards included:
• Best Actress in a Leading Role: Sofia Revolorio
• Best Actor in a Leading Role: Jonathan Harris (the only two time repeater in this category)
• Best Actress in a Supporting Role: Stevie Woodring
• Best Actor in a Supporting Role: (runner-up) Derik Cruz
• Best Choreography: (runner-up) entire cast of “West Side Story”
• Best Musical Number: “Tonight” entire cast of “West Side Story”
• Best Production: “West Side Story”
The Isaacs were created to recognize excellence in high school musical theatre by the Altoona Community Theatre. Fourteen productions from Blair, Bedford and Cambria counties were recognized at the awards.

Getting ready
Seniors and teachers from TAHS are preparing for end of the year services which include: TAHS Senior Baccalaureate scheduled for June 8 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium; TAHS Senior Excellence Night scheduled for June 11 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium and TAHS Commencement on June 13 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.
