Stole scrap aluminum
On March 18 state police reported along SR 3025 (Bell Hollow), in Taylor Twp., that someone removed an undetermined amount of scrap aluminum from a property owned by Earl Cowfer, 69, Port Matilda. The items included aluminum cans and some metal trim used for doing rubber roofing. Anyone with any information about this crime is asked to contact the state police in Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.

Dropped cigarette, hit pole
State police reported a crash along SR 4023 in Antis Twp. on March 20. Police stated that Kristen E. Gunby, 29, Everett, was traveling east on SR 4023 in the right lane. Gunby dropped her cigarette and looked away from the road. Upon looking away while driving, Gunby’s vehicle struck a telephone pole and split it in half. Penelec was contacted to replace the pole. Gunby was wearing a seat belt, and no injuries were reported.

Traveled off roadway
On March 21 state police reported Christopher A. Green, 37, Bellwood, was negotiating a downhill curve to the left along SR 3025 in Taylor Twp., when for unknown reasons Green traveled off of the roadway. Upon leaving the paved portion of the roadway, Green traveled approximately 21 feet with the right front tire on the shoulder and then struck a large tree which was approximately three-feet off of the roadway. Upon impact, Green’s vehicle spun approximately 45 degrees in a clockwise direction and came to rest on the roadway on all four wheels facing southwest. Green was not injured and had been wearing his seat belt.
