A stroll in the park
Locals were invited to a Stroll in the Park, Thursday, June 12, as they listened to music, played games and had a chance to win prizes donated by those who sponsored this event. It was all smiles at the park as they had a chance to catch-up and greet one another in the few hours they had. The seniors were able to walk through the park and enjoy Kip Woodring on the guitar throughout the day as he played their all-time favorites for their entertainment. (The Daily Herald/Nick Cushion)

Area seniors and friends enjoyed a nice day at the park last week as they gathered together during this year’s “Stroll in the Park”.
This is the fourth year for the event and area seniors were invited, along with family and friends, to gather together at Reservoir Park for fun, food and fellowship.
This year was the most successful ‘stroll’ to date with well over 100 seniors enjoying the fine weather and fresh air last Thursday.
Pavilion No. one was filled with area residents relaxing, while others took the opportunity to stroll through the park.
Those in attendance were treated with prizes, gifts, entertainment and food.
Kip Woodring provided the entertainment on his guitar and a free lunch was served to those attending.
This time is set aside each year for seniors in the area to enjoy the beautiful surrounding of the park. Most have enjoyed Reservoir Park in the past and this gives them an opportunity to enjoy it again.
The event also provides a chance to take time to gather with old friends and acquaintances while enjoying the scenery and admiring the good work done by the borough and volunteers who keep the park in such great shape.
‘Stroll’ organizers Lee Wertz, Francine Hughes, Ann Knab, Barb Wertz Leiden and Christine Wertz are extremely pleased with this year’s turnout and are already looking forward to the fifth year for this event.
