Update on Tyrone robbery
State police reported an update on a Snyder Twp. robbery in Tyrone that occurred on Sept. 21, 2007, when someone entered the residence of Steven and Kelly Walker on Floral Drive. The culprit(s) forced entry through a ground floor window and removed jewelry, electronics items and a small quantity of alcohol. Estimated loss totaled $1,800 for the stolen property, and $100 for the damaged window.
On Dec. 1, 2008, state police filed charges against a 16-year-old Tyrone male; the case would proceed through the Blair County Juvenile Court system. State police said then that the investigation is continuing and more arrests were possible.
On April 14, 2008, state police filed charges against a 15-year-old Tyrone male, by which the case will proceed through the Blair County Juvenile Court system.
Police again said the investigation is continuing and additional arrests are possible.

Forgery, theft and access device fraud
On March 30, state police reported that Bryan G. Helsel, 32, Tyrone had several transactions made on his bank account using his personal checks, which were forged, and his ATM card account through the M&T Bank. The total amount known is $828.11 over several months. A white, female suspect is known to police. Investigation to continue.

Harassment
On April 2, state police reported a known 17-year-old male juvenile was charged with harassment for an incident at Greentree Village in Snyder Twp. The victim, also a 17-year-old male juvenile, told police that the male actor struck him in the face with a closed fist.

Flattened tire
State police reported on April 5 that an unknown actor(s) used a sharp thin object and punctured the rear tire of Joshua Daniel Parson’s vehicle along West Logan St. in Bellwood. Total damage is estimated at $225.

Simple assault
State police reported on April 9 that police and Blair County Children and Youth Services are looking into an allegation of physical assault on a male juvenile who had recent bruises on his person. The incident occurred at a residence along Parkway Rd. in Antis Twp. This investigation is on-going.

Intentionally caused damage
On April 10, state police reported an ex-employee at the Vail warehouse of Smith Transport Inc. in Snyder Twp. intentionally caused $3,024.04 worth of damage with a fork truck to property in the warehouse before being escorted off the property. Investigation continues.

Burglary
On April 11, state police stated that unknown actor(s) entered into a camp owned by Kenneth W. Beamer, 49, Mechanicsburg, located off of SR 220, Bald Eagle, Snyder Twp. The actor(s) used force to enter and remove several items from the camp, including copper piping. The actor(s) fled the scene undetected. Slashed tires
State police reported on April 12 that unknown actor(s) slashed the tires of a tractor owned by William F. Stotler, 44, Tyrone. The actor(s) then fled the scene undetected. The incident occurred off of Sand Bank Road, Antis Twp., near the Frito Lay Distribution Center, which is posted as “NO Trespassing” by the owners of the property.
