The management of DJ’s Cafe started a free Thanksgiving meal six years ago to help comfort and provide for the less fortunate in the community. They offer this service on Thanksgiving Day with their generous staff and many volunteers giving up time with their own families to keep this event alive. In 2007, with the community’s help, DJ’s climbed to an astonishing 475-plus meals. DJ’s now asks for your help once again as they approach the annual event. Donations of any kind are appreciated and can be made in the form of a check or money order to DJ’s Cafe, a gift certificate for a grocery store, or a food item they use to prepare the meal. If you cannot get the donation to them, someone will be available to pick the donated item up. Meals consist of: roasted turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, candied yams, corn, cranberry sauce, roll and butter, dessert and milk.
