Trinkets & Treasures, a craft and gift shop, had it’s grand opening Wednesday, October 2. The owner is Tonia Saupp who says, “I always wanted to have a craft and gift shop. I formally did ‘Pampered Chef’ parties and I really wanted to take on something that I was doing for myself and my family…I wanted to be able to decide what I wanted to do with my business more so than what I did affecting their business.”
Store days and hours are Wednesday- Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Trinkets and Treasures is located on Route 453, Smithmill or Janesville (whichever it is to you). It is actually the beige house on the right, coming north on 453, just after the Janesville sign and is located in the basement. This charming shop actually came to a head in one night.
Saupp amusingly states, “I just happened to be in my basement painting one night and thought, ‘this would be a good starter place for a craft and gift shop.’ I talked to my husband that night and the next day we went and bought the stuff and started renovating.”
By the weekend of October 5, a sign will be prominent in the front lawn.
Starting in November, there will be one craft class a month for adults and one for children. Those dates will be forthcoming. The craft for November is a snowman table runner.
The ideas didn’t stop with all this though. Saupp is already planning ahead before week one of business even ends. “Eventually, we’re thinking about starting to do home parties, so if people are interested in that kind of thing, they would be able to earn free products from the store for themselves for doing that as well.
Please call Tonia at 378-5566 for any other alternate directions, any ideas for craft shops, or any other questions.
New items of all variety are arriving daily, so stop by.
