The Tyrone girls volleyball squad traveled cross county to Williamsburg for a volleyball match on Tuesday night.
The Lady Eagles defeated Williamsburg easily in two straight games 15-4. 15-3 to improve their record to 13-2.
Stephanie Catich led the Lady Eagles with eight service points, Lindsey Bailey had seven kills and Amber DelBaggio had 12 assists.
For the Williamsburg Lady Blue Pirates, Focht led with two service points.
“I wanted to make sure that the girls weren’t looking ahead to Bishop Guilfoyle,” said Tyrone coach Dave Eckberg. “So I challenged them by calling tough serves and asking them to run some set plays. They had been a little down at practice the day before, but I was pleased by their performance…..I think they got my message. Our passing wasn’t where I wanted to see it, but we were still able to put some big swings on the ball and get the job done.”
The Tyrone junior varsity also defeated the Lady Blue Pirates in two games to none, 15-5, 15-12.
Katie Whitby led the attack with 10 service points, including eight aces.
