The Tri-County Wrestling League is holding their annual tournament at Central High School over this weekend. The 10 member teams wrestled the pigtail and quarterfinal rounds on Friday night and will begin the semifinals and first round consolations at 11:30 a.m. this morning. Please note the starting time has been moved back 30 minutes from the originally scheduled starting time of 11 a.m.
Bellwood-Antis moved five wrestlers to the semifinals.
Will Edwards pinned Brian Dick of Tussey Mountain in 1:01 at 119, Dan Himes decisioned Matt parry of Claysburg-Kimmel 6-2 at 145, Jared Ervine majored Southern Huntingdon’s Scott Everhart 11-3 at 152, Dwayne Cherry pinned Steve Rebo of Moshannon Valley in 2:36 at 160 and 275-pounder Josh Rosella decked Brian Burket of central in just 0:37.
At 125, Josh Ervine pinned Tim Dickson of Juniata Valley in the pigtails, but lost by fall to Brandon Reasy of Northern Bedford in the quarterfinals.
Shane Evans (103), Mike McGeary (112), Derrick Miller (1171), Dustin Earnest (189) and Josh Ervine are still alive in the consolation rounds for the Blue Devils. Chris Carrier dropped two matches Friday and is sidelined from the tournament at 215.
